The phrase “Life has dealt with us” reflects the reality of many struggling families, and it perfectly captures Dorcas Solomon’s story of resilience and hope.
Join us in making a difference by providing educational scholarships for 100,000 underprivileged children across Nigeria.
Before sharing our impact, we believe it’s important to hear directly from those whose lives have been touched.
Here is the story of one of our scholarship beneficiaries:
I’m Dorcas Haruna Solomon, a 19-year-old psychology student at Gashua Federal University in Yobe State, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences.
I’m honored to be a recipient of the Azemobor Gregory Foundation’s ₦100,000 scholarship grant. In addition, my mother has also benefited from the foundation’s widow empowerment initiative, receiving ₦50,000 to help her cocoa business thrive.

However, behind these opportunities lies a tale filled with pain, resilience, and incredible strength.
A Mother’s Unending Sacrifice – Life Has Dealt With Us
“Losing my dad was the hardest thing I’ve ever faced,” Dorcas shared, her voice heavy with emotion.
“No one can ever take his place. I still cherish his warm smile.”
For over six years, her family has been navigating life without him.
As a result, her mother found herself alone, shouldering the immense responsibility of raising six children with little to no help from relatives.
“Being a widow and caring for six kids is no small feat,” she explained.
“There were moments when life felt too heavy to bear. In fact, I even found myself praying for the pain to end.”

Yet, through it all, one thing has remained unwavering—her mother’s strength.
“My mother is relentless. She works tirelessly, sacrificing her own comfort so we can have a brighter future.”
When Support Becomes a Lifeline
For Dorcas and her family, the scholarship meant so much more than just financial assistance.
It was a lifeline.
“You can’t truly grasp how vital this scholarship is for me and my family,” she said.
“This support isn’t just helping me—it’s saving an entire generation.”
Furthermore, her mother, Mrs. Deborah Solomon, also expressed heartfelt gratitude to the foundation and its generous donors.
A Call to Humanity – Life Has Dealt With Us
Dorcas’ story is far from unique.
Indeed, there are countless widows and children throughout Nigeria facing similar struggles.
