Every December, the Azemobor Gregory Foundation shares love and support with our community. The festive season is a time for celebration. However, it is also a moment to recognize those whose hard work often goes unnoticed.
Recently, we had the distinct honour of hosting a group of truly remarkable individuals. We welcomed the hardworking women of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA).
Recognizing Our Everyday Heroes
These women are the heartbeat of our city’s health. While many of us are still asleep, they are out across different communities. They work at the break of dawn to keep our environment clean and safe.
Their daily sacrifices are essential to the wellbeing of society. Yet, they often perform these tasks without the public recognition they deserve.
During our festive initiative, we welcomed the LAWMA women with appreciation and compassion. We shared food items and support packages as a sincere gesture of gratitude. This was our way of thanking them for their unwavering dedication to public service.
Beyond the Distribution
The true essence of the day was found in the smiles and heartfelt conversations. Our team shared many emotional moments with these heroes. For the foundation, this event reminded us that every individual deserves to feel seen and valued.
It wasn’t simply about the “act of giving.” Instead, it was about restoring dignity and spreading hope. We believe compassion should extend to everyone. This is especially true for those who work behind the scenes to make our world better.
